Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Midswing, Inc. ("Midswing," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website at midswing.app and, once launched, the Midswing mobile application.

Information we collect

Website (today). When you join our early access list, we collect your email address. We also collect standard technical information such as browser type and pages visited, used in aggregate to understand site traffic.

App (at launch). The Midswing app will collect:

• Location data — GPS position logged approximately every 15 seconds during an active round, including in the background, to reconstruct your round. Location tracking runs only during rounds you start and stops when the round ends.
• Golf data — scores you enter, inferred shot zones, handicap, and, if you choose to provide them, your club distances.
• Account data — email address and basic profile information.
• Device data — device model, operating system, and crash diagnostics used to keep the app reliable.

How we use your information

• To provide the core service: tracking rounds, calculating statistics, and generating insights such as the Course Architecture Profile.
• To send you the launch notification you signed up for, and service communications if you become a user.
• To improve the product through aggregate, de-identified analysis.
• To maintain security and prevent abuse.

Aggregated and de-identified data

We may create aggregated or de-identified datasets from golf performance data (for example, how golfers in a handicap range perform on certain hole designs). These datasets do not identify you personally and may be used for research, product development, or shared with partners. We do not sell personal information.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate (such as cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and analytics), under contracts that limit their use of your data; when required by law; or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to previously collected data.

Your choices and rights

• Email — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Location — you control location permissions in your device settings; the app cannot track rounds without them, but you can revoke access at any time.
• Access & deletion — you may request a copy of your data or deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA, which we will honor.

Data retention and security

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or de-identify it. We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.

Children

Midswing is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised date, and where appropriate, by email.
